Short Thought 123 (sisters)

It was quite some time ago. I was in a social setting with a group of people along with my sisters. One sister talked a lot of shit. The other talked more. I realized – or was it remembered? – I really didn’t like being in social settings with my sisters.

Agreed. I was the quiet one in a group of very loud, aggressive voices. I could always hold my own in social settings, until my oldest sister showed up and shut me down. The dynamic never changes. My kids were surprised to see how different I was around my birth family. Short, but provocative post, Colette. 😁

Oh, thanks Van, you get it. I was never exactly quiet but I won’t compete to be heard and make a very poor audience for b.s. Your kids can never see you the way your birth family does and vice versa. My siblings, as do so many, revert to old, OLD roles when together. I. Just. Can’t. Do. It.

This follows the train of thought: would you be friends with your family members if you had the choice? Sure… you love your family, but do you like them?
Short thoughts can really carry some weighty questions!
